We Survived!!

They did it! My students survived the plane crash in the Brazilian jungle and were able to find their way out! I made it as well, I survived one of the hardest weeks yet. I should probably explain what the typical "teaching practice" experience is like. For one, we are observed by both a teacher (or for my last lesson an intern) at the school who have specialized in TEFL/TESL, as well as another TEFL student who is my 'peer' for the lesson. Actually, the lesson really isn't the most time consuming thing, it being a total of 110 minutes, with a 30 min. feedback session. The hardest, and worst part in my opinion, is the lesson planning. Why? I am an extremely, extremely picky about what I want to teach. I'm so worried about the students having fun and being interested in the topic that it takes me hours to find inspiration and then a couple of hours more to write out a four page lesson plan.
Seriously though, yesterday was great. I had the same elementary class that I taught on the 8th, and I feel like I really got to know them. Miche, a great friend from the course, taught with me yesterday and we both could not stop grinning afterwords. Miche's face actually hurt on the walk back for dinner...which was about 9:30. Just to add to the great, but long day, was what Daisy (another good friend from the course) made for dinner...Fajitas! Aside from almost dying of spice overload, it was an amazing day.
Oops! Out of time, I'll catch up on monday! :)
